• Morocco’s video game industry

      Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan has opened a big gaming event in Rabat, which brings attention to Morocco’s fast-growing video game industry.

      The third Morocco Gaming Expo is running from 20 to 24 May and gathers gamers, developers, companies and investors.

      According to officials, the opening shows “the King’s constant care for young people” and “his strong commitment to their development, training and access to new technologies so they can take part in the economy of tomorrow.”

      Morocco wants to make gaming a serious industry. This sector could create thousands of skilled jobs, attract investment and help Morocco compete internationally.

      During the visit, the Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan walked through the exhibition halls, where visitors can try games, watch demos and meet developers.

      Government bodies are presenting support programmes. Startups are showing new games and ideas. Investors are also on site to meet young creators and discuss funding.
